Garden and Craft Sale – Thursday 25th April 2019

Pippa Greenwood of Gardeners’ World fame supports local charity for adults with learning disabilities

Winchester Go LD had a spectacularly successful Garden & Craft Fair last Thursday making a profit of £8400 to help fund local projects for members of Winchester Go LD. Set in the beautiful setting of Katie and Simon Browne’s garden in Headbourne Worthy , reports fair organiser Ros Nell.

“This was the charity’s fourth garden fair but this year we had nearly 3 times as many visitors and accordingly raised much more money.  This was definitely in part due to Pippa Greenwood who kindly agreed to spend the morning with us, handling in her inimitable witty style, horticultural questions from the audience, including a question about slugs from the Mayor Cllr Frank Pearson.”

The funds will help with running costs for Winchester Go LD, who offer free memberships to adults with learning disabilities in the Winchester area. Last year the charity put on 240 different activities, as well as offering advocacy, sign posting and support.
