The tea with Joanna Trollope at the Winchester Guildhall on Wednesday 3rd July 2019 was a huge success and raised over £11,000 for the charity which is much needed to fund gaps in service to provision.
An entertaining afternoon with 140 people who gathered to hear Joanna talk about her journey as a writer from historical to contemporary novelist. She gave a fascinating insight into the role of the novel in documenting current concerns and the way we live, and the importance of realism in creating readable and believable characters. Joanna delighted the assembled company by her charming and relaxed response to Lucy D’Albuquerque’s interview and the follow-on questions, which were enjoyed over a delicious tea.
Joanna has a relative with a learning disability and knows the big difference Go LD make to her life. She kindly offered to give her time and talents to raise much needed finances.
